Petty Lie

I fibbed about my lunch expenditure and bought an extra cookie from the cafe near campus instead of just getting what I usually get, a lie so small it barely matters, but somehow it gnaws at me knowing it’s a direct falsehood to my husband. He trusts me with our finances completely, and here I am pocketing the extra change for a brief moment of indulgence.
