Caught in the Moment

I’m forty-two and have been happily single for years. I never thought I’d cheat until it happened at a conference last month. I met this charming, much younger academic, let’s call him Tom, and we clicked right away. We ended up spending too much time together, talking late into the night about our work and dreams. One evening, after everyone else had left for their rooms, we found ourselves alone in an empty lecture hall. The electricity between us was undeniable. I kissed him, and before long, we were on a roll in his hotel room. It felt exhilarating yet slightly reckless. Should I feel guilty? Is it common to find yourself drawn to someone outside your usual comfort zone like this?
