Been Thinking About It...

I’ve been single for about two months now after my long-term relationship ended. We were in an open relationship but it was getting harder to keep the boundaries clear and separate our worlds. I met this guy, let’s call him Alex, a few weeks ago through mutual friends... He's really cool, funny, smart... We hit it off right away, both of us enjoying being single again for now... So we started seeing each other casually but also with the understanding that if things progress more seriously, there would be room for both of us in our respective lives. It’s complicated because I still have feelings for my ex and while she’s happy now without me, I can’t help but wonder what might’ve been... The thing is... I really like Alex a lot too. We had this connection right away, that initial spark you know? But lately, it feels like maybe I’m leaning in more to him emotionally than physically... When we’re together, I feel so comfortable and safe... It’s not just physical anymore, there’s a real emotional bond forming... I told Alex about my feelings but also said it was fine if he didn’t want to go that route. He hasn’t pushed back against the idea of being more serious but he’s been playing it cool too, maybe for his own headspace? I’m not sure... And with my ex, she has her own thing going on now and is moving forward without me... But here’s the question: Am I rushing into something emotionally with Alex before giving myself space to fully let go of what was between me and my ex? Do you think it makes sense to give this new dynamic some time to breathe and see if that helps clear things up, or should I dive in deeper now while we still feel a connection? Any advice is appreciated...
