Been Thinking About This Too Much

I've been thinking about this for weeks now, can't stop it. It's crazy how these things come back to you after all these years. My partner and I have been together for decades, we know each other so well by now that everything is comfortable and routine. But last night something happened that just blew my mind. We were in bed like normal, talking about our day, laughing a little, the usual. Then somehow it hit me: what if... what if I tried to surprise her? You know, with something new, something we've never done before. I mean we've done everything together at this point, right? So how could it be a surprise? Well, I started to think about maybe trying out the handcuffs in the drawer. We've had them for ages but never used them. And then she just looked at me and, oh my god, her expression was so intense, it was like she knew exactly what I was thinking. So we did it. She tied me up slowly, taking her time with each strap. It was strange to feel that vulnerability again, being bound while looking at her in control. I could see how focused and attentive she was, every little detail mattered. And when she leaned over to kiss me... damn, the way those lips moved on my skin... It's funny how one thing can throw you off balance like this after so long together. I've been mulling it over ever since, wondering if maybe there are still new things we haven't tried yet. What else could be out there for us to explore? But mostly just replaying that night, the way she took charge and held me down with such confidence. It was thrilling, but also... a bit scary. So here I am, confessing this now because it's eating at me. We both had an amazing time, of course. But what does it mean? Does it open up more possibilities for us? Or should we just stick to the comfort and familiarity we've built over all these years? I don't know if I'll ever find a clear answer, but writing this feels like taking some kind of step forward.
