...A Late Night Alone...

I was studying late one night in my apartment when I felt this overwhelming loneliness. I had all the books and distractions around me but nothing could fill the void of not having someone to share it with. So, I did something I never thought I'd do, I messaged a stranger on an app for company... just for a bit of human connection. We talked for hours about random things, sharing laughs and some deeper stuff too. Near the end, we both admitted how much we needed that tonight. Then he suggested video chat so I could see his face... but something made me hesitate. My heart was pounding as I imagined us being intimate like this with no strings attached. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to do it and ended things politely, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment....
