Drinks, Dinner, And A Bed?

So here's the thing: I'm married to Jane and we have a great life. But last night, there was this guy at the bar who just wouldn't leave me alone. He kept buying drinks for us, we ended up talking till closing time. Then dinner. By midnight, we're walking back home from wherever he decided to drag me, his place apparently wasn't an option. So I end up with a new friend in my bed that never asked permission to stay over. Now, does this happen to others too or am I just a saint for letting him crash without more? Advice appreciated.
