My Dominant Partner

So i've been seeing this person for a few months now... we started slow with some light play but as time went on, things got more intense. he's very into control and setting limits... it feels good in a way, having someone else take charge sometimes. the last session was really something though, pushing boundaries... i'm not sure how to feel about that level of intensity.... just wondering if this is normal or if i should back off?
