When Being Single is More Fun Than I Expected

So, yeah, I just got out of a serious relationship and thought it'd be like that old TV show where you're so sad about the breakup that all your friends try to cheer you up with parties and distractions. But turns out, being single again feels more like an adventure than a breakup heartache drama! Last night, I was at this casual meet-up thing on campus and ended up talking to this guy named Jake who's in my Calc class but we never really clicked before because, well, he's Jake, shy and always hiding behind his textbooks. We started chatting about mutual friends and then somehow got onto the topic of our favorite sex positions, yeah, that smooth! And suddenly, there was a spark I hadn't expected. By the end of the night, we had traded numbers and agreed to meet up for coffee tomorrow to talk more, but I could tell he's just as intrigued by me now as I am by him. It's like every breakup book says it'll be hard at first, but instead of feeling sad or lonely, I feel kinda giddy and hopeful about the possibilities. Who knew dating in college would turn out to be such an unexpected turn-on?
