A Night I'll Never Forget

I met this girl at a bar last month, and we clicked instantly. We talked all night long, shared stories, laughed until our sides hurt. By the end of it, there was an unspoken understanding between us. Her place wasn't far from mine, so I walked her home, lingering in front of her building for what felt like forever before finally saying goodbye. But then she kissed me, softly at first, but quickly escalating into something more passionate and urgent. We went inside, closing the door behind us. It was intense and wild, nothing we hadn't hinted at all night long. The next morning, though, it felt different. She wasn't around when I woke up, and a note on her fridge just said she had to go back home urgently. Since then, I've been thinking about that night over and over again. It was exhilarating but left me feeling empty too.
