Caught in the Act... Kind Of?

So here's this thing that happened at school last week... My name is Mr. Lee, by the way. Just started dating a student's parent last month and it’s been pretty chill. No big deal really, I mean, we both are grown-ups here so it’s all on us to make sure everyone feels okay about it. But this one day, we were at her place after hours... And yeah, the kids had some club meeting in the school library and my office is just down the hall from there. We thought everything was fine until suddenly I heard some noise coming from a nearby room. I thought maybe someone left their phone on vibrate or something... But then we started talking and realized it might have been her kid walking by outside, because his shoes made this distinct squeak when he walked past the window. It’s like one of those moments where you wonder how much they saw... So I tried to play it cool and act normal if anyone stopped by or came in looking for stuff... But honestly, I was kinda nervous about getting caught red-handed with someone's mom. Anyway, turns out nobody noticed anything weird at all. Just another day of school went on without any major drama... But this little thing has been bugging me since then... I guess it’s just the kind of thing that makes you think twice about doing certain things even if they’re totally legal and consensual between adults. Or maybe I'm overthinking it? Not sure if there's an asshole to be found here but felt like getting this off my chest anyway. Ellipses everywhere because thinking about all the what-ifs... Could have been worse though, right? Just a little close call in terms of being discovered...
