Caught in the Moment at Work

I never thought I’d be caught up in something like this while working the midnight shift. It was quiet and slow; the only sound was my breathing as I walked down the aisle, restocking products. But then she came in. She was a regular customer who always seemed to keep her distance, but tonight, there was a different energy between us. As we crossed paths behind the counter, our hands brushed against each other, an accidental touch that felt anything but accidental. Before either of us could pull away, we found ourselves leaning into the kiss, and it quickly escalated from there. The store was empty, so I thought no one would come in, but then I heard footsteps approaching and panicked. We broke apart, breathing heavily, as if someone had walked in on us mid-sentence. It felt wild and dangerous, and now, every time she comes into the store, a part of me wonders if we'll ever be bold enough to do it again.
