Wife's Secret Pleasure and My Response

I've been married to Sarah (my wife) for three years now. We got along great, but lately I’ve noticed a shift in the dynamic between us. It started when she began asking me about kinks I had previously never mentioned or shared with her. I brushed it off as curiosity and we moved on, but then one day she suggested trying something new: role-playing that I was her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her and broke her heart. At first, I thought maybe she wanted closure from a past relationship, which seemed reasonable enough to me. We had open communication in our marriage about sex, so why not explore this avenue? It was clear she was turned on by the idea of being hurt again, but in a controlled way where I could make it stop any time. Our first few sessions were exciting and different for both of us. However, as we continued, something shifted. She became more insistent on me playing the role of a callous lover who never wanted to commit or care about her feelings. Initially, my character was empathetic despite being unfaithful, but over time, I found myself letting go of that side and embracing the darker aspects. I’m proud to say that I explored these fantasies thoroughly with Sarah; she's told me how much it turned her on and helped her process some unresolved issues from before our marriage. She loves it now when I’m this unapologetic, self-centered version of my character, even asking for more extreme scenarios. Some might see what we do as unhealthy or damaging to the relationship, but I'm not sorry at all about embracing this aspect of us together. It's just another facet in our adventurous marriage that keeps things fresh and exciting.
