Worn Out Romance Ended in Frustration and Humor

I thought I'd found my lifelong partner when we got together ten years ago. Turns out he just needed time to come into his own, but not as a husband or faithful lover. Our last night together was pretty anticlimactic, I guess after all these years of waiting for the right moment to confess my darkest kinks, we ended up watching some silly romantic comedy instead. I couldn't tell if he fell asleep out of boredom or just because he knew it was over and didn’t have the heart to say goodbye properly. So now here I am, back in my thirties with a midlife crisis and a decade's worth of unexplored fantasies staring me down from the mirror. Maybe next time I'll find someone willing to laugh about it too.
