Just Got Out of My First Long-Term Relationship

I just got out of my first serious relationship a couple weeks ago. It's been hard adjusting to being single again and I've been trying really hard not to be too needy, but it's tough. We were together for about two years and we were very intimate from the start. Everything felt right back then, but now things feel different. One thing that happened towards the end of our relationship was kind of a shocker for me. I had always been comfortable with the sexual side of our relationship until one night he suggested roleplaying something new, let's call it CNC for now, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go there, but also didn't want him to think I was holding back or anything. So we did it, and honestly, it felt... weird. It wasn't unpleasant exactly, but the feeling of crossing that line with something so taboo left me feeling uneasy afterwards. I felt like maybe he thought I was more into this kind of thing than I really am? Or maybe he was just curious? Anyway, we talked about it a little bit afterwards and decided to give each other space for a while. He eventually moved out and now things have cooled off completely. But that one night still haunts me, wondering if I gave the right impression or not. I know this is probably all in my head but... it's hard when you've never done anything like that before to judge whether or not you should keep going with something like this. I'm just so torn between wanting to explore new things and being afraid of pushing boundaries too far.
