Forgot the Milk Again

So I've been trying really hard to get back into my routine since the divorce, but it's tough. Yesterday, I went grocery shopping and promised myself that I wouldn't forget anything this time. You know how we all have our little quirks? Well, mine is forgetting things at the store. It sounds so stupid, right? And I know it’s just a small thing, but when you’ve been through something as big as a divorce, every tiny slip-up feels like a failure. I was feeling pretty good about myself last night as I zoned out while picking up my usual items. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until... milk! It hit me that I forgot the damn milk once again. I didn't realize it at the time though, just kept driving home, thinking everything was fine. Then, as I'm unpacking the groceries, there it is: no milk. Of course not. And now, having forgotten yet another batch of milk (like two weeks in a row), feels like such an anticlimactic way to fail at adulting after my big life change. I'm just really kicking myself over this one tiny thing.
