My Trans Journey and Engagement

So, I recently got engaged to my long-time girlfriend, and we're both so happy. But you know, there's a part of me that feels like it's been this journey all along, right? Starting from the moment when I first realized that being male was who I truly am inside. It took a while for me to come to terms with it, but once I did, everything just clicked into place. My partner has known about my transition since before we even started dating, she’s been incredibly supportive throughout. But you know what? Even though I feel like this is the right path for me and we're both happy together, sometimes people still judge or misunderstand. They look at us as if they can't understand how it works. Like, ‘how do two guys who are technically the same sex end up in love?’ And then there’s the stuff I haven’t told her about yet, some of my older fantasies involving dominance and submission. Not something I want to act out for real, but definitely things that turn me on from time to time when we’re roleplaying as consenting adults. It feels weird sometimes because they don't really match up with who I am now, but it’s still part of me, right? I’m also in a bit of a bind with my parents, their old-school views are hard to reconcile with where I’m at today. We’ve managed to keep things civil so far by not talking about it too much, but sometimes the tension is palpable. But hey, I wouldn’t trade any of this for anything else in the world. Being true to myself has brought me incredible joy and fulfillment, even if it hasn’t been an easy path all along.
