My Lie About My Age

I lied about my age to someone I care about. It's such a small thing that doesn't really matter, but it feels like a big deal because we're already dealing with so much else. He was checking his phone the other day, and saw an app notification for something related to me turning 35 last month. I panicked when he didn't know what it was, and just said 'Oh yeah, that's my birthday.' It felt so natural to lie about it at the time. But now I feel like such a liar over this tiny thing. It's not even anything exciting or serious, just an app telling him someone wishes me happy birthday for my birthday last month. And yet, here we are.
