A Little Lie at Work

So I did this thing at work the other day, it was just a small fib, nothing big. See, my boss asked me to give an update on a project that was actually quite behind schedule. Instead of admitting the truth, I spun some numbers and made it sound like we were almost done. It felt good for a moment, but now every time someone looks at me with those 'are you really doing this?' eyes, I cringe. A tiny lie to save face, how grown-up.
