A Slight Deception

I've been in a long-term relationship with Sara for years, but last week I took a day off from working from home to go explore the city solo. Told her I had back pain and needed some quiet rest at my place ... but really? Just wanted time away without kids or deadlines hanging over me. Was it cheating? Maybe in spirit, if not deed. Still feels like stepping out for selfish reasons nonetheless. Not proud of it, just owning up.
