Just A One-Night Thing...

We'd broken up a week ago and were trying to stay on good terms for...various reasons. I was feeling vulnerable, and one night, we ran into an old friend of hers who made a comment about how we looked great together, even though he knew we weren’t dating anymore. She laughed it off but later suggested grabbing drinks alone...and before long, there we were, back to what felt familiar, comforting, and exciting all at once. It wasn't meant for anything more than tonight, but here I am, wondering if maybe she saw something different in those moments...
