Late Night Fibs...

So last night at work, there was this customer who just wanted to cause trouble. I'd already heard complaints from her about the manager and stuff like that, but she tried to get into a fight with me over something tiny, a missing candy bar that might've never even been in stock. Now, normally, I wouldn't stoop to her level... But it was past midnight, and my shift was almost over. So instead of arguing, I just made up this story about how the store had a new policy against carrying certain brands because they were unethical or something like that. She seemed satisfied with this answer... It felt so wrong to lie but also kind of good in the moment. I guess sometimes you have to take shortcuts when dealing with people who want a confrontation for no reason...
