Lying About My Workouts

So yesterday I had this really awful day at work, and it just felt like everything was piling up on me. You know those days when you're just tired of everyone and everything? Well, that's how I felt. So I thought to myself, 'What do I love the most right now?' And guess what, my workout routine is really comforting for me during stressful times. But here's the thing: yesterday was one of those rare days when I didn't feel like hitting the gym or going for a run. I just felt too drained and it seemed pointless to push myself. I could have told my partners that, but I'm in an open relationship where transparency is valued, and admitting weakness feels counterintuitive sometimes. So instead, I said I went out for a long jog. It wasn't a big deal, right? Just another day of trying to appear strong even when you're not. But it got me thinking about how we all hide behind little white lies like this one. Maybe the real lie isn't the fib itself but the reason why I told it in the first place, that maybe I'm just not ready for my partners to see me at my most vulnerable. It’s funny how a single, tiny lie can make you feel both dishonest and ashamed. I mean, I did go home and have a little wine afterward, which is also something I don't usually do much of, but it's more about finding balance in my life than cheating on my workout plan, right? Still, I'm left feeling like maybe the next time things get rough, instead of lying or hiding, I should just be honest. Maybe admitting weakness could actually help me become stronger.
