Shift Romance

I've been dating casually for a few months now but nothing serious. This week I started seeing someone from work, my patient, actually. He’s 18+, early thirties like me, and we have similar interests outside of work. It's strange because it's not like our relationship extends beyond the hospital walls. Today on my shift, things got a little more... intimate between us than they ever had before. Nothing explicit or graphic; let's just say I'm now even less objective about his well-being. Is this normal? How do I keep my professional and personal lives separate?
