A Student's Secret Note

I recently ended a long marriage and found myself teaching summer courses at the university. One day, I received a note from a student, a brilliant young woman in her early twenties, confessing her feelings for me. She asked if we could meet privately to discuss them further. After much contemplation, I agreed. We met in my office one evening. The air was thick with unspoken desires as she poured out her heart.
