little white lie

so last week i was at the grocery store and i was running late to meet a friend for lunch. but on my way back out of the store, i saw this little display of chocolates near the checkout that looked so good, like those expensive ones with nuts and caramel inside. problem is, they were 15 bucks or something ridiculous like that, totally not in the budget. but it was such a moment of weakness you know? i ended up just putting them in my cart anyway without checking to see if i had enough money on me for everything already in there. i went home and put the chocolates somewhere out of sight before telling my wife later that day that i didn't buy anything extra at all, only what we needed. she probably never would have known but it felt like such a tiny thing but still i couldn't shake this weird feeling about it all week. don't know why it bothers me so much though, right? maybe just reminds me to be better with my money i guess.
