Exploring the Unexplored...

I've been with my partner for over five years now. We're both in our late twenties, settled into a comfortable routine, but lately I've felt this itch to break out of it. Last night was different though... we started off slow, exploring each other's bodies like it had been ages since the last time we touched. But then I pulled her down onto me and whispered something that surprised even me: 'I want you to pretend I'm someone else tonight.' She hesitated for a moment but nodded slowly. It was bizarrely exhilarating, feeling her hands explore my body in a new way... imagining she wasn't just touching me, but discovering every inch of a complete stranger. Her breaths grew heavier as I guided her deeper into the fantasy, and when we finally came together it felt like an awakening, like a part of myself that had been dormant for too long was finally alive again... I'm not sure what this means for us going forward. Should I tell her about these new desires? Is it okay to want something more than just what's familiar and comfortable... especially if it involves stepping out of the box we've built together? Am I losing myself by seeking a thrill outside our relationship, or am I simply rediscovering who I truly am in bed? What do you think... is this normal for long-term couples?...
