Caught In A Dilemma With My Partner

Anonymous Devious Sneak #429 · General

I'm a grad student and have been dating Sarah for two years now. We're both in the same field of study but in different departments, so we don't interact too much with each other's circles. I've always felt like our relationship is solid, but lately, there's this thing that keeps eating away at me. Sarah loves roleplay and kinks, which isn't a problem for me. We play around with it pretty often and she gets off on the power dynamics involved. But recently, we tried something I wasn't too comfortable with, and now I'm really questioning everything. She wanted to try non-consent roleplay, but in a way that felt more real than playful. It was just an act of course, but I don't know if I can handle it anymore. The day after our last session, I couldn't help feeling like maybe she had some kind of control over me. I didn't want to bring it up right away because it seemed so silly - we're both adults and understand the difference between roleplay and real life. But as time went on, the feelings lingered. Now I worry about my own limits. Is this normal for a relationship? Am I being too sensitive or is there something more going on here that needs to be addressed? I just can't shake the feeling that she sees me more as someone who exists to please her rather than an equal partner in our relationship. I'm not sure how to move forward. Should we talk about this and maybe set some boundaries around what types of roleplay are okay for us? Or is it better to leave things as they are, pretending like nothing happened? I just feel stuck between wanting to be supportive of her interests but also feeling like I deserve more respect in return. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated.
