Went Against My Boyfriend's Wishes and Knew He'd Be Ok With It Later

I did something that felt wild at the time. My boyfriend had asked me to wait until we were married before I got pierced, but one night I went ahead and got a navel piercing anyway. I knew he’d be okay with it eventually, he always has been supportive, but this time I didn’t want to wait any longer. The piercer told me how beautiful I looked when they finished; it felt so liberating. When my boyfriend found out, he was initially upset but ended up loving the way it looks on me. He said he wished he had pushed for it earlier. Am I being unreasonable? Should I have waited like we planned?
