That Night at Work

I never thought I'd find myself in this situation. It's been months now but it still feels like yesterday. You know how you have those quiet nights where the bar is empty and everyone seems to be just drifting by, lost in their own thoughts? Well, that night was one of them. She walked in around eleven. A regular customer, we chatted a bit before she ordered her usual. But there was something different about her that night, her eyes seemed more alive, almost daring me to say or do something out of the ordinary. And I couldn't resist. After closing up and locking the doors behind us, I took a chance and asked if she wanted to continue the conversation over a drink in one of the booths. She agreed, hesitantly at first, but then with a twinkle that made my heart race. The talk turned from casual chat to something more intimate, until it was just... too much for me to handle alone. We didn't say anything explicit out loud, but I could feel her desire as clearly as she felt mine. And when we kissed in the back room, it wasn't planned or meant to go further, but it did. I'm married and this isn't about regretting my decision that night or questioning what happened. It's more like I want to admit to myself that it was real for both of us at some point, even if we won't ever talk about it again. Sometimes honesty with oneself is all you need.
