The Secret Chocolate Thief
Anonymous Corrupted Menace #898 · General
So, I've been doing something pretty silly that I feel kind of guilty about. My roommate, Jamie, loves chocolate. Like, seriously loves it, she keeps a stash in our mini-fridge and every time we go grocery shopping together, her cart is filled with more than half chocolate bars. Now, here's the thing: I don't actually like chocolate all that much. It’s not because I hate it or anything; I just prefer other sweets like gummies or candies. But Jamie is super into chocolate and I thought it would be fun to play a little prank on her one day. I decided to take some of her stash, figuring she wouldn't notice right away since we both live busy lives. And at first, everything seemed fine, I took just enough that wouldn’t make a big impact. But the more I did it, the harder it was for me to stop. Before long, I started taking chocolate whenever I had cravings for other sweets. One day, I accidentally dropped a wrapper on my way back from grocery shopping, and Jamie found it. She didn't confront me directly at first, but the next time we went out, she bought more chocolate than usual, as if to replace what was missing. I felt terrible about this whole situation because even though it started as a joke, it turned into something I couldn't control. The guilt really hit home when Jamie mentioned how much she loves chocolate and how she saves some for special occasions like birthdays or study breaks. The funny thing is, all these months later, I finally confessed to her one day after cleaning up my room (I found a hidden stash of wrappers). To my surprise, Jamie was surprisingly understanding. She said it made her realize that even if something seems trivial, like missing chocolate, it can affect someone's mood and comfort. So here's the confession: I've been stealing your chocolate, Jamie. It started as a prank but turned into more than I expected. But hey, at least we both have a good laugh about it now.
