Caught in the Act of Impropriety?

So here's the thing, I'm a high school teacher and yeah, things got pretty hot and heavy with one of my students last year. It started as just playful banter during class breaks when we both had free periods together, but over time it became more than that. We'd send flirty texts, share inside jokes that were really double entendres, and the occasional suggestive post on social media would slip through under cover of darkness. Fast forward a few months, we ended up at this club downtown one Friday night when our school's Christmas party was canceled due to last-minute cancellations. I had a couple drinks too many and she suggested we go somewhere more private for 'coffee'...which meant something very different than just caffeine or sugar. I mean let me be clear, there were no actual laws broken, everything was 100% consensual between two adults who are now both over 25. But the reality of it is that even if my student was legally allowed to date a teacher, I definitely wasn't supposed to pursue such an intimate relationship with someone so much younger than me. And here's where things got weird, I found myself really, really into it. The way she looked at me, those eyes burning through the nightclub lights, made everything feel right in that moment. But obviously there were serious ethical boundaries being crossed and my actions would definitely be frowned upon by both colleagues and administration. So here's where I'm stuck, is this just a normal human urge? A case of curiosity and attraction getting the better of me even though we knew it was wrong before it started? Or am I truly an asshole for going so far as to engage in something that could be so damaging professionally, even if it wasn't illegal or physically coercive? What do you all think? Am I totally out of line here or just another example of how rules sometimes aren't black and white?
