...a silly fib i told ...

i recently got out of a long-term relationship and was hanging out with friends. we talked about all the fun things we did while in our respective relationships, but there's this one night i always regret telling fibs about. i claimed to have had an amazing time at a secret party i made up, just some wild dancing and hooking up i totally didn't do. it felt like a harmless lie, but now it just leaves this lingering 'what if?' that grates on me for no good reason.
