A One-Night Flaw

I'm an office worker with a very dull week. After my recent separation from my long-term partner, I've been trying to find new distractions. Last night was particularly draining; my ex had called me for the umpteenth time to discuss trivial details of our shared life. Feeling isolated and desperate for some kind of human connection, I ended up at a friend's place after work with several drinks in me. Before long, another acquaintance from the office was there too. And then... things happened between us that shouldn't have. We weren't drunk enough to be completely out of our minds, but close. It felt like an escape, just for one night. I've never cheated before and it's not something I want to do again; I'm more confused than anything else.
