Another Night at the Strip Club

I went to a strip club last night after getting my divorce papers. I was thinking about everything and how life is different now. The girls there were nice, more friendly than I expected. One of them took me into a private room and we talked for a while. She asked if I wanted anything specific. I told her I just needed someone to talk to, but then she said something that got my attention, 'Sometimes it's good to forget about everything outside this room.' Her words made sense to me at the moment. We agreed on some terms and she was very gentle with me. It felt like a strange mix of therapy and release all wrapped up in one session. I didn't spend as much money there as I could have, but it still felt luxurious to be pampered after a week full of stressful meetings about my finances. There's something freeing about not having the usual expectations or rules hanging over you for once. I wonder if that's all this is ever going to amount to, finding pockets of freedom in small ways when things feel overwhelming. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself there could be more.
