A Surprise in My Office Hours

I'm an associate professor at a small university. I've taught here for over 25 years and have never really felt the need to date anyone seriously, but that changed last semester when this stunning student enrolled in one of my classes. She was smart, funny, and had a way about her that made me feel... different. We started talking more outside of class. She’d come by my office during hours and we'd chat for a while before she left. It felt like I was getting to know someone special without the awkwardness of an actual relationship. Then one day, something unexpected happened. We were deep in conversation about her final project when she suddenly leaned over and kissed me! I was stunned, but it only took a moment before my brain caught up with how much I’d wanted this for so long. From that day forward, we became inseparable. Our secret romance flourished during office hours, after lectures, even late at night in her dorm room. We were both careful not to be seen together on campus, but it was all worth the risk just to experience those stolen moments of passion and intimacy. Looking back now, I can’t believe how it happened so suddenly yet felt inevitable once we took that leap. It’s been months since then and things have cooled down between us, she graduated and moved away, but I’ll always cherish that time when everything seemed possible.
