Late Night Freelance Fling

So, I've been working from home for a few years now, and while you'd think it would make everything easier, sometimes it just leads to odd little affairs. Last week, I was deep into crunch time on a project when this new client came in, let's call her Rachel. She needed some urgent work done, which meant we spent a lot of time chatting about everything from marketing strategies to cats and dogs (her pet peeve). One late night, as deadlines crept up, we ended up sending each other messages far into the evening. It was this weird, unexpected connection that had nothing to do with the job but everything to do with staying awake in my pajamas and hers. Long story short, she mentioned her place wasn't too far from mine, and one night when I finished early, we... well, you know. It felt both incredibly stupid and wonderfully spontaneous, but also a bit of an ethical gray area given that this isn't just about work anymore. I keep it secret because, let's be honest, if my wife knew how my freelancing was really paying off on the weekends, she'd probably send me straight back to the office.
