When I Lost My Head One Night

So, here's the thing, I've always had a bit of an adventurous side when it comes to sex. Nothing too wild or risky, just a little experimentation now and then to keep things interesting. Lately though, my curiosity has been more focused on something that isn't exactly the norm for me, a friend with benefits type of situation. I met this girl about six months ago at a mutual acquaintance's party. We had an immediate connection over our shared taste in music and indie films, but we both made it clear that we were happy being single. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, she messaged me out of the blue asking if I wanted to hang out one night. At first, I was just going to catch up with her as friends, but when she hinted about some of our mutual interests, my mind started racing. We ended up heading back to my place for drinks and more than a little flirtation. The vibe between us had been growing stronger all evening. She seemed almost playful in her teasing, which only fueled my anticipation. And then, we decided to go into the bedroom. The moment we closed that door felt electric. I was caught up in the thrill of it all, her touch and the sounds around us made everything feel so intense and spontaneous. I remember being lost in our connection as things progressed. We moved onto a different level of intimacy that I hadn’t anticipated going for, but once it happened, there was no turning back. It's just one night; we both agreed to keep it casual, no strings attached. But here’s the thing, I’ve been replaying this scenario over and over again in my head. Did she think I was leading her on or did she feel the same spark? What if I misread the situation entirely? In retrospect, maybe I should have slowed things down a bit to check if we were both really ready for that next step, but it’s not like I wanted to ruin what was already working. Now every time I see her, my heart races thinking about whether or not she feels the same way about me as a person beyond just that night. It's been gnawing at me ever since. I’ve always prided myself on being clear with my intentions and respecting boundaries, so to be honest, this whole situation is rattling me more than I thought it would. Maybe it’s time for another casual chat, just to see if she feels the same way about that night as I do. Or maybe, just maybe, I should let it go and enjoy the freedom of being single. The guilt is getting heavier each day though.
