A Small Lie at Work

I recently got divorced and am trying to date casually, but I haven't committed to anyone yet. Lately, I've been feeling a bit lonely and unconfident. At work the other day, my new boss asked if I was single, thinking she might connect with me since we're both navigating life post-divorce. Truth is, I have this guy I'm seeing semi-regularly, but I told her no one serious and that I’m focusing solely on building friendships for now. It feels so petty to lie about something so small when my boss was just being friendly. Now every time she says hello in the hallways, I cringe because all it takes is a slip of the tongue for me to admit my little fib.
