A Small Lie...

I’ve been in my current relationship for over twenty years now. We’ve had our ups and downs, but overall, we maintain a strong bond built on honesty. Or so I thought until recently... Last week, we went to dinner at an upscale restaurant downtown. The food was excellent, but unfortunately, it didn’t agree with me later that night. I couldn’t face telling her about my discomfort right away due to the embarrassment and our history of sharing such intimate details openly... Days passed before I could bring myself to mention it, by which time the issue had resolved itself anyway. However, the guilt lingered, this was a small but significant breach of trust in our relationship...
