a night i will never forget

i was just grading papers one night when this student walks into my office, all nervous like. we had talked a bit before, but nothing out of the ordinary. she sits down and starts rambling about her classes, and then suddenly it’s like she’s looking at me differently. i mean, it’s flattering and all, but i’m like forty and shes what... in her twenties? so older than her anyway. anyway, before i know it we’re chatting more personal stuff and the next thing i know we’ve got a plan for that weekend to just hang out one night. i was thinking maybe dinner or something casual. but she had other plans apparently, because when i get to this fancy place she booked, there’s champagne and everything set up. we drink and talk more and then before you know it, well, we were kind of in a situation where things got heated. nothing happened of course, at least not for real, it was all just an intense roleplay thing that ended with us sharing some intimate stories and cuddling. i felt so weird the next day but also oddly liberated. like i had a secret i could keep to myself.
