Another Patient in Therapy Bed

I just got out of my long-term relationship and am still trying to figure things out. I was seeing this patient, let's call her Sarah, who had a really interesting take on therapy beds for sexual health sessions. She said they were great because the bed's design keeps everything comfortable and accessible for any kind of position or toy use. So one day, after we discussed some more unconventional techniques in our sessions (nothing too taboo for my practice), I was left thinking about it a lot. It got to me where I couldn't help but think about applying them to my own life, though not with anyone right now since the breakup hit me hard. Anyway, that made me wonder how patients and therapists handle the lines between professional boundaries and personal desires in such setups. Sarah is very straightforward; she was clear that as a patient, she expected everything to be strictly therapeutic but appreciated when her doctor's understanding helped make sessions more effective for her needs. It got me thinking about how flexible roles can sometimes get blurred. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's hard being out of a relationship and looking at the therapeutic beds with a different lens now. The whole setup is still very clinical and professional when in use, but there's this... curiosity about stepping into that space as someone outside my usual role.
