Did I Cross A Line?

So my partner, Alice (her real name) and I have been together for about three years now. We've got a great relationship overall; we're both into trying new things sexually and there's never been an issue with consent in the past. But lately, I’ve had this strange urge to explore power dynamics and control in our intimate encounters, you know, safe and sane stuff like that. A few weeks ago, Alice came home looking really stressed from work. She wanted to talk about some problems at her office, but she’s also been feeling kind of restless sexually for a while now. Knowing this, I suggested we try something new to spice things up between us, CNC roleplay with me as the dom and her as sub. I emphasized that it would be completely consensual from start to finish. At first, Alice was hesitant, which is fair considering she's usually more into being dominant herself. However, after discussing the boundaries and making sure we had a safe word, she agreed to give it a shot for an hour. During the session, I did things like commanding her verbally while touching her in ways that were a bit rougher than normal. She responded well physically but seemed conflicted emotionally. Afterward, Alice expressed mixed feelings about how she felt during and after our session, partly aroused by my assertiveness, but also feeling a sense of loss or vulnerability because she’s used to being the one in control. I was there to listen and support her fully; we talked it out deeply afterward and agreed that while it might not be something we do often, it could still be part of our dynamic if we both feel okay with it. But here's my question: am I pushing too hard or crossing a line by exploring this kind of roleplay? Should I focus on respecting her dominant tendencies more instead? What do you all think?
