Just Another Night Out
Anonymous Wicked Heathen #124 · General
So last night I went out with a couple of friends, mostly to have some drinks and maybe pick up someone. Ended up having a good time but didn't get laid or even seriously flirted with anyone, which is fine, happens sometimes. On the way back home, I found myself feeling strangely detached, thinking about how most nights out are kind of the same: go somewhere, drink too much, try to have fun, and leave alone. It's not that it’s a bad routine or anything; it just feels like there’s something missing. And then I realized what it was, I’ve been doing this on my own for so long now that sometimes it feels like the only way forward is to be alone. Does anyone else feel this way? Am I just overthinking things, or could it be that I need a real connection more than I thought? Sometimes I worry that I’m too used to not having one, that if something does happen, I won’t know how to handle it. Any advice on breaking this cycle would be great.
