Engaged in a Complicated Scenario at Work

I’ve been working at a retail store for over three years now. It’s a small community place where everyone knows each other and sometimes personal boundaries get blurred. I met Jane, who started as my colleague but quickly became a close friend after we spent countless hours chatting about everything from our favorite books to our dreams for the future. She recently turned eighteen (she's 18+) and has an infectious energy that lifts everyone’s spirits. A few weeks ago, things got complicated between us when I confessed to her that I have feelings for her beyond just friendship. Jane is engaged to another person, someone who lives out of town but plans to move here soon. Despite this fact, she agreed to date me in secret, knowing it wasn’t right but also not ready to end the relationship that binds her legally and emotionally elsewhere. The complications escalated when Jane suggested we take things further in a CNC roleplay scenario one night at my apartment. We had been exploring these boundaries for weeks through texts and calls, talking about what we wanted and didn’t want to do, so I felt safe moving forward even though it felt ethically murky. After all, she is still technically committed to someone else. Despite the guilt, there was a mutual agreement that this wouldn't continue beyond that one evening. But afterward, Jane confessed her confusion and need for space, she wants to do what’s right by her fiancé but also can’t shake these feelings for me. I’m torn between respecting her boundaries and wanting to support someone who is clearly struggling. I am the asshole here because I let personal desires cloud my judgment when it comes to respect and trust within relationships. But at the same time, Jane made decisions that were just as questionable, leading us both into murky territory without a clear way out.
