Forgot My Anniversary Again

So, yeah, my wife and I have this thing where we're supposed to be super romantic. Like, she loves it when I remember these little milestones. You know? But lately, life's just been hectic with grad school and all that. So last week, I totally forgot her anniversary. Oh man, I felt like such a jerk! I mean, I did try to cover it up by getting some flowers and telling her she looked beautiful today, but you can't fake an anniversary, right? She noticed something was off, for sure. So I had to confess. Told her the truth, that I forgot, that I'm sorry, and thankfully, she's understanding. Still feels pretty bad though. Funny thing is, we were planning on going out last night but ended up just ordering pizza and watching some old movies at home. Guess you could say it was romantic in its own way? She laughed when I told her the real story, which made me feel a little better. Maybe next year, I'll set reminders everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE, to avoid this situation again.
