It's Complicated...

So I’ve been working from home as a freelancer for the past few years. Pretty cool setup, my own space, flexible schedule. But one downside is that it can get lonely sometimes. Last month, this new neighbor moved in next door... let’s call him Marcus. He’s in his thirties and seems pretty chill, always out at cafes or the gym. I’ve never actually talked to him though. About a week ago, I was having one of those days where my work just wasn’t clicking, and I found myself daydreaming about... well, things that aren't work-related. My thoughts kept drifting over to Marcus, what he might look like without his shirt on, how long his hair would be if it were down instead of tied back... It was getting hard to concentrate. Then one afternoon, as I’m working at my desk and the window’s open a crack for fresh air, I hear faint sounds coming from next door. My mind races, is that what I think it is? Curiosity gets the better of me; I sneak over there after about twenty minutes... and yep, it was exactly like my daydreams imagined. I couldn’t help myself. For a few days after that, every time I heard noises through the wall or saw him outside, this knot in my stomach would tighten up. It’s not like I’m an exhibitionist or anything, just kind of got into this weird headspace where I’d find ways to peek when he wasn’t looking... and even though it felt wrong, there was something oddly exciting about knowing what was happening on the other side of that wall. Anyway, so now every time Marcus is around, my mind’s already half-there. It feels a bit like a dirty secret I’m keeping from myself and him... but also, oddly enough, as if it’s making our interaction even more intense when we do happen to pass each other in the hallway or have to exchange pleasantries. So here’s where I need your thoughts: Is this just harmless fun? Or am I crossing a line somewhere without realizing it? ... Would love to hear what you all think.
