Working From Home Has Its Hazards...

I've been freelancing from home for the past three years now. I thought it would be perfect, I could work in my own space, set my own hours, and still provide a good income. But there's this one thing that's always bothered me... It started innocently enough; I was working on a particularly important project with some tight deadlines. My partner, Alex... well, we've been together for five years now, and usually everything is great. But when I work from home, he tends to be more affectionate than usual. This isn't necessarily bad, but it can sometimes interfere... One day, while I was deep into a critical piece of work, Alex came into my office with this huge smile on his face. He said something like 'I've got an idea...' and before I could react, he started stripping down to nothing. Now, in most contexts, this wouldn't be a problem at all, I enjoy our intimacy as much as anyone else does. But this particular day... The project deadline was looming over me like a storm cloud, and the thought of delaying it for... whatever might come next... It bothered me more than I expected. Still, we're adults here, and consensual activities are always allowed, right? So we ended up engaging in what can only be described as 'playful role-play' or just a bit of fun between consenting adults, but it had an unexpected consequence. The project deadline wasn't met due to the distractions that followed... I felt conflicted about it all day, wondering if I should have set clearer boundaries... but then again, it's not like Alex was pressuring me to do anything against my will. It's just one of those things you can't really plan for or avoid unless you want your relationship to suffer because you're being too rigid. So here I am now, with this lingering sense that something important happened and yet nothing at all, just a day where adult activities and deadlines clashed in ways they usually don’t. It's made me reflect on the balance between work and personal life...
