Just Another Day At Work

So today was just another day at work, and my partner came by for lunch like they usually do. We have this little thing where we bring each other small treats or snacks to make the long shifts a bit more bearable. Today it was some really good dark chocolate, you know, the kind that melts in your mouth? I always joke that it’s our secret weapon against the constant stream of customers and the dullness of shelf-stocking. Anyway, we were sitting at this little corner of the store where no one ever seems to come. It's like our own little hideaway. And as usual, things got a bit playful between us. We started talking about the weird ways some people try to shoplift, you'd think they'd have better ideas than trying to shove gum down their shirt or stuff candy in their socks. But then I got sidetracked thinking about how we sometimes turn our lunches into little make-believe scenarios. Like when she pretends to be my boss and tells me what to do, only it's not really a punishment but more like foreplay. And just the thought of that made me laugh, because who knew managing shelves could be such an interesting role-play scenario? Anyway, we ended up deciding to leave early for our afternoon break because honestly, both of us needed some fresh air and a change of scenery after so many hours standing in one spot. We're going to grab dinner later and spend the rest of the evening watching old movies or something equally relaxing. It's funny how work can be such a grind but then turn into this fun little fantasy playground when you have someone there who understands your quirks and jokes about them with you.
