Caught in the Moment

I recently got separated from my spouse and have been struggling to adjust. Teaching high school has always been a big part of who I am, but lately, I've been feeling restless. A few weeks ago, during lunch break, I bumped into an old student of mine, now in her twenties, at the local coffee shop. We ended up catching up for what felt like hours instead of minutes, and before we knew it, things got a bit heated between us. It wasn't anything major or graphic; let's just say our conversation took an unexpected turn towards some playful flirting and light touching. She was understanding about everything being consensual and mutual, but I know that my job is on the line if something like this were to come up again. So, here’s what I’m wondering: Am I overthinking this or should I really be concerned? And how do other teachers handle these kinds of situations without compromising their professional integrity?
