A Little White Lie at Work

This week has been utterly dull at the office, and I found myself daydreaming during a meeting. To keep my mind from wandering completely, I lied to my boss about completing a task that wasn't even assigned yet. It felt like such an unnecessary lie since the project deadline isn't for months, but it was this small act of dishonesty that gave me a weird thrill and made the day seem less mundane. It's silly how much a little fib can weigh on your conscience when everything else feels so trivial.
